I am not a very stressed person but travelling always puts me a little over the top. I am not sure if it just making timelines, all the people, security or what, but something gets a little extra cortisol a flowin'
Over the last couple of years I have found a few great strategies that work great staying healthy and feelin' good while your 30,000 feet up. Hey I am definitely not perfect when it comes to nutrition but there is something about eating shitty on the road that I just don't like?
Perhaps it is the combo of a little added stress, garbage food, and the person you sit beside who is coughing up a lung (never fails). It is a recipe for feeling like crap when you finally arrive to you destination and I can't stand it.
Here are some strategies that I implement that seem to work wonders while jumping from A to B.
1. Pack your own food.
Having healthy foods that you like fill keep you feelin' good and energized!
2. Drink LOTS of water.
Well those days are over. Drinking lots of water will keep you extra hydrated which I always find is an issue when travelling...haven't figured out why yet?
3. Intermittent fast.
And hey...a little fast now and then may be good for ya!
Don't know what intermittent fasting is? Check this out.
4. Take a few extra supplements.
5. Have a drink!
In my opinion it is the added stress associated with flying that makes you catch that cold or get that headache. Having a drink may just put your mind at ease.
Do you have any tips or tricks for traveling?
These work for me but they may not work for everyone. Find what you like, what works for you, and stick to it!
