They are things that we like the idea of but not enough to make them a reality...in most cases. If we whole heartedly wanted to make certain changes in our lives, we shouldn't have to wait till the New Year to start!
Once you know what goals you want to accomplish you should break down those goals into small steps and habits that will eventually lead you to achieving your goals.
Say your goal is to write a kick ass book by September. Seems like a fairly daunting task and thats cause it is. If you simply set that as your goal my guess is that you will probably not end up with a completed book sitting on your desk in 10 months.
But if you tell yourself that you are going to write 300 words per day, make it a habit and stick to it, you will absolutely have a book written by September. Same final goal, different approach. different result!
I actually think that establishing habits is more important than goals. Habits will lead to something but goals need action in order to become a reality. That's not to say that coming up with and writing down goals isn't important, it just means that you need to take action (set up habits) to make them a reality.
With that being said here are 5 of my goals and habits for 2015:
1. Follow the 80/20 rule.
Before I do anything I will sit down and think "is this essential?. Is this something that I am good at or should I outsource this?"
If I focus only on the things that are essential to me and this business then I will accomplish more in less time. In turn this will free up more time to pursue my passions and help others.
2. Become a better writer.
Well here I am writing.
I do think that over the last 8 months my writing skills have improved but I have a long way to go. Truthfully I do not know what I am going to do yet to help improve my writing skills other than continuing to write.
Perhaps once I have some time I will take a writing class?
3. Increase social media presence.
Because I was not involved in the social media world it has been difficult for my to wrap my head around it and remember to be active in that community. It wasn't a habit!
I would always think "hey I should take a picture of this dinner, post this workout etc." then...SHIT I would always forget. My mind just doesn't work well that way.
Unfortunately this isn't something I think you should outsource so I just need to get better at it and it is definitely a habit!
I just need to focus on posting 1-3 times per day until it becomes natural. It is a simple habit that needs to become a "regular" routine for me.
Hey this reminds me...if you don't already, then follow me on Facebook HERE, Twitter HERE, and Instagram HERE.
4. Have a few less cheat days.
I am a fair intense person. If I take something on, it is head on with full force. My cheat days have been no different.
What I eat on a cheat day is probably a little over board. Yes it is a day when you can have doughnuts...just maybe not a dozen?!
I am going to focus on having a few less cheat days and making them a little less crazy.
5. Start recording videos.
Extremely soon I am going to begin filming short (2 minute) videos on nutrition, supplements, wellness, etc. These are going to be available exclusively to the Elite Insiders! If you haven't joined and would like to you can do so by CLICKING HERE.
I have many more goals and habits planned for 2015 but these are a few that will directly effect you. They will increase the value that I provide to you guys so that you too can reach your fitness, health, and life goals and dreams.
What are some of your goals and/or habits for 2015?
