It is not until bigger, more real struggles and issues are presented to us that we take a step back and realize all those little "problems" and challenges are no big issue at all. We realize that the life we live truly is wonderful and that life is too short to be negative.
Every one of us needs to take the time to reflect on what/who we are grateful for. We are SO fortunate to have the lives we do and I think it is important to reflect on that every single day! If you are in need of a humbling, down to earth experience let me introduce you guys to Mike and Bonnie Lang.
Mike and Bonnie are friends of ours who founded Survive and Thrive Cancer Programs. Here are a few words on Survive and Thrive:
"Survive & Thrive Cancer Programs uses adventure expeditions, film, healthy living, experiential education and research to encourage and inspire those touched by cancer to live well. Join the thousands of people every week who check out the Healthy Living Blog. Watch one of 3 internationally recognized films about what it means to live well despite cancer. Come on a once in a lifetime rafting, kayaking or sailing trip to places like the Grand Canyon, the Owyhee River or the Discovery Islands. Where ever you are in your cancer journey, Survive & Thrive Cancer Programs will help you "Reflect. Refocus. Rebuild." your life in a way that is meaningful to you so that you can live well living with, through or beyond cancer."
These are two amazing people who put others before themselves! Watch this short video to learn more about Mike and Bonnie and their mission with Survive and Thrive. Mike is finishing grad school and educates survivors, med students, and the public on cancer and cancer related issues and inspires those affected by cancer. He also is behind all of their amazing documentaries and films.
Bonnie is a trainer (and an awesome one) who teaches people how to strive to achieve a healthy lifestyle. She is currently working on her certification in cancer exercise and can now make an even bigger impact in patients and survivors lives! Check out her healthy living blog here:
Their story, journey, and mission is incredible! If you are ever feeling down just remember these two and the people they inspire on a daily basis. Life can be so much more of a struggle then most of us can even imagine. We ALL need to be reminded of this more often. Be grateful for all the little things in your life and let all the "annoyances" roll off your shoulders.
I hope these two will inspire you as much as they have inspired us!
Live and elite life!
