Maybe it is because I love my coffee so much? And I am not talking about the "roll up the rim" or the "best part of waking up" kind, I am talking real coffee from real farmers! The organic stuff that is so rich and flavorful you can't help but poor another cup.
Well, I finally made my version of Bulletproof Coffee and it is amazing! I cannot wait to wake up in the morning to make a cup.
Bulletproof Coffee was created by Dave Asprey, he is the owner of Bulletproof Executive. The drink is created by mixing a high quality coffee with grass-fed butter and a medium-chain trigylceride oil (MCT).
The purpose of the drink is to provide your body with healthy fats upon waking. These fats supports cognitive function, provides energy, and can help postpone your first meal of the day, increasing your fat burning capabilities!
For my first crack at the beverage I must admit I didn't jump off the deep end. I decided to mix coconut oil, which is a medium-chain triglyceride, and cinnamon into my coffee and give it a try.
Here are my steps to preparing the coffee:
Third, I put a tablespoon of coconut oil and about half a teaspoon of cinnamon into a blender and poor the coffee overtop.
First, I grind my beans fresh everyday. Makes for the freshest, most delicious coffee.
Second, I use the old school drip method of preparing a cup of joe. I find the coffee has more flavour this way.
Finally, I blend it until frothy and enjoy!
The next step will be to try making the coffee with the butter as well as the MCT oil. Not sure when I will give that I try because I simply enjoy this brew too much!
