Weight loss tops the list and as a matter of fact it’s always the #1 resolution. Well here is another stat...most people who resolve to lose weight in the new year are destined for failure.

A few weeks before Christmas you'll start telling yourself "this is going to be the year. The year to finally lose weight". Different than last year because last December you said the same thing. But this time you mean it.
Might sound frightenedly similar!
The reason the majority of people fail to lose weight in the New Year is this:
- Your goals are most likely unrealistic and unclear.
- You do not have a plan. You have an idea about what you want but the "plan" ends there.
- You lack support.
This is exactly how most individuals set New Years Resolutions and it is the exact reason they fail.
You cannot have success if you do not have a specific goal and you cannot reach that specific goal without a step-by-step plan and the support around you to achieve it.
This is why New Years Resolutions SUCK!
They should be thrown out and never talked about again. I mean at the very least why do you need to wait until the New Year to start a new journey or head down the path to reach a new goal?
If you want something bad enough just go out and get it. DON'T wait until January 1st like most everyone else to do it.
But hey here we are...it is January 2, 2016 and I am writing this because I am sick of so many people failing to achieve their weight loss gaols year after year.
So instead of setting another weight loss resolution this year focus on building positive healthy habits. Ones that each day take you closer and closer to you goal. Ones that are simple and effective.
Now you might be asking yourself "what are some positive healthy habits that I can start working on today?".
Well I am glad you asked. I have put together 4 simple habits that if worked on every single day, will 100% work in brining you closed to a healthier, happier, lighter you!
1. Get More Sleep.
Work on getting 8 hours each night. If you wake up at 6am make sure you are in bed by 10pm. Don't stay up for the latest episode of the Bachelor...you are far more important!
2. Fix Your Breakfasts.
Focus on eating low card, high protein, and high (healthy) fat breakfasts. Try left over roasted veggies and eggs or a protein smoothie with half an avocado.
If you make this one simple change to your diet you will be amazed at the results.
3. Eat More Salads for Lunch.
So instead focus on eating a big healthy salad for lunch each day instead of a burger, a sandwich, a pizza, take-out, you get the idea.
A few handfuls of healthy greens, 3-4 of your favourite veggies, a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and top with a healthy protein source, and you have a perfect lunch that will keep you full, energized, and one step closer to fitting into those favourite jeans.
4. Ditch the Soda.
So just STOP drinking this shit. And don't substitute it for diet, just stop. Drink water, tea, or coffee if the caffeine doesn't bother you.
Working on building healthy habits will pay dividends when in comes to your weight loss goals. If you solely focus on these 4, you will be absolutely amazed at the results to both your health and your waistline.
